FROM CONCEPT TO REALITY-THE STORY BEHIND 3D FLEX FLASH

Hi, my name is Mat Sutor. My wife, Holly, and I own 3D Flex Flash and
Sutography Weddings in San Diego, California.

I would love to share our story about how 3D Flex Flash came to life!

3D FLEX FLASH products are individually 3D printed utilizing the toughest flexible TPU filament available.

We knew there had to be a simple solution for on-camera flash modifierser…

In the early days of our wedding photography business, after photographing countless weddings, I realized there was a need for a simplified on-camera flash modifier. I had used and researched every flash diffuser and light modifier on the market. While some were better than others, none offered the simplicity and versatility I envisioned. I wanted a modifier that could effortlessly slip onto your flash head, with no buckles or straps, and be both flexible and lightweight. On a wedding day, we already have enough gear to carry—this needed to be easy and efficient.

My idea led to the creation of The WYNG, a one-piece, lightweight, flexible flash bounce modifier. Initially, I tried to develop a prototype by having a mold made, but finding a viable solution proved challenging, and the prospect of overseas production was discouraging. With the help of a talented family member, we successfully transformed The WYNG into a 3D model.

My design was finally a reality!
And ever since, we’ve been using The WYNG in our professional photography work.

To our surprise, 3D printing turned out to be the ideal method for manufacturing my invention. Using a flexible filament, The WYNG weighs just 2 ounces and is exactly what I had always envisioned. I personally 3D print each WYNG from our home in San Diego, California, and I’m proud to say it’s made in the USA.
